which means reaching donors of all ethnic backgrounds so they can serve the needs of all patients. Sickle cell disease is a genetic blood disease that affects millions of people worldwide, with a high prevalence among African Americans.
​
Patients with this disease can experience severe pain and often require blood transfusion as a form of treatment. 44% of African Americans have the rare O blood type needed to help Sickle Cell patients receive necessary blood transfusions to treat their disease. We urge you to join us in making a positive impact.

We are honored to welcome Guest Pastor Kevin Cosby, a renowned spiritual leader whose words of wisdom and guidance have touched countless lives. Reverend Dr. Kevin W. Cosby earned a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, a Master of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. Since 1979, Dr. Cosby has served as Senior Pastor of St. Stephen Church in Louisville, KY. In 1997, Dr. Cosby encouraged the church to purchase and convert the original four-acre campus of Simmons University (now Simmons College of Kentucky), to be used as a lifestyle enrichment cam-pus. In 2005, Dr. Cosby was named the 13th President of Simmons.
