As Indiana's only predominantly Black institution (PBI), we are dedicated to fostering connections and celebrating achievements within our community.

This year's Homecoming promises to be a memorable family reunion where alumni will reconnect with classmates, rekindle cherished memories, and celebrate our collective accomplishments. Our event lineup includes the inaugural scholarship Greek step and stroll competition, the National Center for Racial Equity and Inclusion Resource Access Fair, the 4th Annual First Lady's Tea, the Annual Citywide Martin Sunday, the Back to the Block Comedy Show, and a 90's tribute concert featuring Hi-Five.


There will be something special for all generations to enjoy. We invite you to join us for this exceptional week of festivities beginning October 14, 2024 and ending October 20, 2024.

Join us as we kick off homecoming

with the City-Wide Unity Prayer Breakfast. Diverse faith leaders across Indianapolis will convene for meaningful discussions, fostering unity and cooperation. This event holds special significance as we delve into the importance of higher education within the black and brown community. This event is free and requires an advanced RSVP.

Alumni Awards Recognition Reception

At Martin University, Alumni are a vital part of our ongoing success. Join us for the Second Annual Awards Reception as we honor Brigadier General Felicia Brokaw, Indiana National Guard's first black female general.

Light refreshments will be served, and the event is free with an advanced RSVP.

Alumni and guests are invited to join First Lady Tosha Huddleston for a delightful lunch and inspiring conversation at the luxurious Hotel Carmichael.

This can't miss event will feature a moderated conversation led by award-winning fashion and interior designer Alpha Blackburn with Danisha Ferguson, the Founder and CEO of Indiana Fashion Foundation, and International Fashion Designer Korto Momolu.

NCREI Access Fair

Community events foster partnerships, disrupt systemic barriers, and connect the community to companies, organizations, and allies entrenched in work that combats systemic issues. Assistance will be provided in education, housing, criminal justice, employment, health entities, and more.

Versiti is committed to helping save more lives,

which means reaching donors of all ethnic backgrounds so they can serve the needs of all patients. Sickle cell disease is a genetic blood disease that affects millions of people worldwide, with a high prevalence among African Americans.


Patients with this disease can experience severe pain and often require blood transfusion as a form of treatment. 44% of African Americans have the rare O blood type needed to help Sickle Cell patients receive necessary blood transfusions to treat their disease. We urge you to join us in making a positive impact.

Come out and enjoy a night of those college classics that will bring back plenty of memories and create new ones! Hosted by Tedd Hardy, this is a 21+ event and is open to the public. Dress code and security will be strictly enforced.

Join us for a spiritually uplifting experience at Martin Sunday Worship Service, the grand finale of our Homecoming festivities! This special service promises to be an inspiring and soul-enriching event that you won't want to miss.


We are honored to welcome Guest Pastor Kevin Cosby, a renowned spiritual leader whose words of wisdom and guidance have touched countless lives. Reverend Dr. Kevin W. Cosby earned a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, a Master of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. Since 1979, Dr. Cosby has served as Senior Pastor of St. Stephen Church in Louisville, KY. In 1997, Dr. Cosby encouraged the church to purchase and convert the original four-acre campus of Simmons University (now Simmons College of Kentucky), to be used as a lifestyle enrichment cam-pus. In 2005, Dr. Cosby was named the 13th President of Simmons.
