What is the classroom environment at Martin University?
The University practices the philosophy that learners enter the classroom with experiences and therefore should be able to provide feedback to the instructor. Rather than Iearning strictly from textbooks, the classroom experience involves discussion between faculty and students, although textbooks are used.

Yes, for students who have been out of school for a long time, foundational level classes are offered.
What are the first steps for enrolling as a student?
The student's first step in enrolling at Martin University is a visit to the Enrollment Services Office to obtain an application or apply online. Applications can also be downloaded from our website. An Enrollment Advisor will walk you through the admissions process.
Is there any way I can receive college credits for my life experiences?
Through the PLA (Prior Learning Assessment), students may gain credit for their previous work or life experiences. Contact our PLA Coordinator for additional information. Please note that PLA credits provided by Martin University may only be used towards a Martin University degree.
Does Martin University accept transfer credits?
Yes, Martin University accepts credits from other institutions of higher learning. Please contact the Office of Academic Affairs for specific policies and procedures for transferring credit(s) to Martin University.

No, Martin University was founded in 1977, too late to be designated an HBCU. However, Martin University is the only accredited, liberal arts predominately black institution (PBI) of higher learning in Indiana.
Is Martin University part of Martin Center?
No, Martin University grew out of Martin Center. The original name of the University was Martin Center College. Martin Center, Inc. has always been a separate entity.
