Empowering Excellence Gala
Founded in 1977, Martin University has spent the last 46 years as Indiana's only Predominantly Black Institution, Martin University has educated and empowered students to achieve higher education and become leaders.
The goal of the Empowering Excellence Gala is to celebrate students, community, and civic leaders by honoring & recognizing a wide variety of advocates who exemplify the mission of Martin University.
The proceeds from this event are directed towards funding the Martin WORKS initiative, the National Center for Racial Equity and Inclusion, and student scholarships supporting Martin University students.
“Empowering Excellence symbolizes Martin’s mission to educate and encourage all people of every race and nationality," said Martin President Dr. Sean Huddleston. The Empowering Excellence Gala not only celebrates the achievements of Martin University but also its students while raising funds for important initiatives.
