EMBRACING THE PAST, ENGAGING THE PRESENT & EMPOWERING THE FUTURE

This year, Martin University is celebrating 43 years of fulfilling our unique mission of serving the higher education needs of minority, low-income, and adult students in Central Indiana. We have adopted “Embracing the Past, Engaging the Present, and Empowering the Future” as the theme for our celebration weekend, which comprises three important events:

Presidential Investiture Ceremony & Reception: At this inaugural event, Dr. Sean L. Huddleston will be formally installed as the 5th President of Martin University. Since beginning his presidency in March of 2019, Dr. Huddleston has focused on developing institutional efforts that create conditions of success and positioning the University for future growth. All University supporters are welcome to attend this historic occasion and the following reception. This event is open to the public at no cost. RSVP here.

First Lady’s Tea: The theme for this event is "Empowered Women Empower Women." This fundraiser benefits the University's Caring & Learning Drop-In Childcare Center. The conveniently located and low-cost center makes attending classes possible for many Martin students. As the center plans for expansion to serve the growing number of children in need of care during their parents' class time, your support is needed. The proceeds from the First Lady's Tea will help fund the enhancements needed to serve these families. Seating is limited. To purchase tickets or inquire about sponsorship opportunities, contact the Office of Institutional Advancement at 317.543.3093.

43rd Anniversary & Awards Gala: This formal occasion celebrates our 43 years as a “Communiversity,” while honoring outstanding individuals and organizations who have championed causes that improve lives and communities in our region. This black-tie affair includes a gourmet meal, dancing, networking, and live musical entertainment that will leave guests with unforgettable memories. Click here to purchase tickets or contact the Office of Institutional Advancement for table packages and other sponsorship options at 317.543.3093.

The First Lady's Tea and 43rd Anniversary and Awards Gala is supported by several sponsorship levels, and we ask for your consideration and support by serving as a sponsor or through ticket purchasing. Your generosity will benefit Martin by:

  • Providing student scholarships to reduce or eliminate college debt

  • Intensifying our course curriculum and instruction to continue enhancing the skillsets needed for the workforce

  • Expanding the infrastructure of Martin University
