Humane Exchange

The term humane connotes a moral dimension, and in Martin University’s case, it refers to the appropriate conduct and treatment of persons. It implies a give-and-take relationship between individuals, and if a humane description is provided of this exchange process it will involve the exchange of ideas and attitudes between individuals with the goal of self-actualization and fulfillment. Each party to the exchange should come away a winner.

Members of the new Humane Exchange Society are servant leaders in society; that is, persons with a new consciousness of what is possible to achieve by bringing out the best in people. They work among the urban and rural poor, in all aspects of both the profit and non-profit business sectors, and in a multitude of service organizations designed to improve people’s ability to gain a better life for themselves and their families. The Humane Exchange Society works in all areas where people are struggling to gain civil rights, true freedom, and dignity.
