Indianapolis Colts, Sky Bank Host Holiday Party for Students

Holiday carols rang out through the pavilion at the Indianapolis Colts Training Facility on Tuesday, December 12, as the Colts teamed up with Sky Bank to host a holiday party for College Mentors for Kids. More than 100 elementary students and their college-aged mentors from Martin University, Butler University, IUPUI, Ivy Tech, Marian College, and the University of Indianapolis attended the event, filling the room with a buzz of activity.

Some very special guests were also introduced during the evening, including Colts LB Gary Brackett, RB Tanard Davis, OT Dan Federkeil and OT Michael Toudouze.

Throughout the event, each group had the opportunity to meet Santa, receive a gift and enjoy cookies and milk, make a gingerbread house and watch the holiday favorite "Frosty the Snowman." In between activities, many of them paused to snatch a quick autograph or photograph from the players, as well.

Several students sat with their mentors, making gingerbread houses out of milk cartons, icing, graham crackers and candy. Every once in a while, one of the Colts players would stop in to lend a helping hand - adding a piece of candy here and there, dabbing on just a bit more icing or simply offering a few words of advice.

After more than two hours of holiday activities, the students and their mentors packed up their gingerbread houses, donned their coats, said their final goodbyes to Santa and loaded up on school buses to head home.
