On Saturday, May 14, 2016, Martin University held its 47th Commencement Ceremony. The ceremony honored the achievements of its 42 Baccalaureate Degree recipients and 13 Master's Degree recipients.
The University also presented two honorary doctorate degrees to individuals who have accomplished great milestones and served the community. Mr. Nathaniel Jones, Superintedent of the Metropolitan School District of Pike Township was the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters. Mr. Hallie Bryant, former Harlem Globetrotter, received an Honorary Doctorate of International Relations. Both provided the Class of 2016 words of encouragement.

CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2016!
Because of the generous support of the Nicholas H. Noyes Jr. Memorial Foundation, Independent Colleges of Indiana, USA Funds, and the supporters of "All In For Martin", twenty-seven 2016 Summer Scholarships were awarded, totalling $48,666.
Martin University congratulates each of the scholarship recipients and wishes each of them success as they pursue their academic goals.

MARTIN UNIVERSITY TO HOLD FOUNDERS DAY LUNCHEON
Three Servant Leaders to be Honored
{INDIANAPOLIS, IN - FEBRUARY 29, 2016} The Martin University Alumni Association, invites teh community to participate in the Associations "Black is Still Beautiful" fashion show. This charity event will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm, in the Martin University, Fr. Boniface Hardin Gathertorium.
Promoting the festival will be BlackNext, www.blacknext.com, a culturally conscience orgranization that will bring together a variety of artists in the areas of music, dance, visual arts and fashion. BlackNext's mission is to encourage the arts for the next generation of creators. This creative organization will showcase some of Indy's Next generation of young African American talent.
BlackNext decided that its first organizational activity would be to give back right away, helping Martin University in its efforts to raise money for its 2016 "All In For Martin" fundraising campaign.
Tickets are on sale online at BlackNext.com. Adult tickets are $15 and student tickets are $7. Tickets are also available for purchase at the Martin University Bookstore. Tickets will be available at the door, $20 for adults and $10 for students.

Martin University will celebrate Black History Month "Your Life Matters" featuring guest speaker Dr. Michael Twyman, Executive Director of YLM, Indiana Black Expo on Thursday, February 25, 2016. Dr. Twyman will share insight and bring awareness to the challenges affecting the urban community and the efforts underway to save lives and change the culture.
Martin students are invited to participate by attending the event and participating in the Black History Month Essay Contest. Winners will be announced and receive cash awards during the program. Prizes will go to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place essay winners. Click here to view or download the essay requirements.
