MARTIN UNIVERSITY TO HOLD FOUNDERS DAY LUNCHEON

Three Servant Leaders to be Honored

INDIANAPOLIS – Martin University will hold its Founders Day Luncheon to celebrate “39 Years of Service” on Thursday, April 14, at 11:30 a.m. in Martin’s Gathertorium at 2171 Avondale Place in Indianapolis.

The year’s luncheon celebration will honor “Those Who Have Served Well” and recognize three outstanding Servant Leaders who have demonstrated selflessness in an effort to see others change, achieve and grow.  These persons continue to help the University move forward with tremendous individual commitments.  This year’s honorees are:

·         Ms. Clara M. Webb - mentor and pillar of Brightwood Community for 90 plus years; World War II WAC (Women’s Army Corp) veteran; and author of the book “Yes Lord” which chronicles the history of the 28th Street Church of God In Christ.

·         Rev. Fitzhugh Lyons - pastor of Galilee Missionary Baptist church for 35 years.

·         Mr. Olgen Williams – former Deputy Mayor in charge of neighborhoods for former Mayor Ballard and former Director of Christamore House.

“We are grateful for the occasion to express our gratitude to these three special people,” said Martin President Dr. Eugene White. “Additionally, the University will induct the second class into the Fr. Boniface Hardin Society.”
