Mission
The School of Social Justice is concerned with the study
of social control within the world’s cultures. The School includes two academic
departments, Sociology and Criminal Justice. Sociology majors study how social
groups form and maintain culture. The Sociological Imagination is cultivated and
exercised. Sociology majors are prepared for a variety of careers that involve
understanding cultural groups, which could include social services, community
organizing, marketing, or politics. The Criminal Justice Department prepares
students for careers in pre-law, law enforcement, corrections or homeland
security.
