Sociology
The Sociology program is designed to familiarize students with an understanding of the basic principles, practices, theories, and methodologies of sociology. As a discipline, sociology is understood to be the systematic study of human social relationships at many different levels. The Sociology program is designed to prepare students for careers within the fields of social sciences, human services, journalism, and public affairs.
Students wishing to obtain a major in Sociology must complete the five courses listed below:

Students also need to complete an additional 21 credit hours of course work from within the Social Sciences Division. Nine of these credit hours must be chosen in Criminal Justice.
