Humane Exchange
The major in Humane Exchange is a study of human interaction using transformative and liberating educational practices. The degree is concerned with social, cultural, political, spiritual, ideological, educational, and historical human interaction, and with fostering leadership for change in society. Humaneness is concerned with interpersonal and group interactions, as well as interactions with the environment and the world at large.
Humane Exchange prepares students for contemporary work in human services, emphasizing ethical practices and social change. It provides knowledge and understanding of concepts surrounding discriminatory attitudes and practices in order to enhance skills in using advocacy, dialogue, and other related issues in human interaction.
To obtain a major in Humane Exchange, students complete the following courses:

Students also complete an additional nine credit hours of course work from within the Social Science Division.
The student is also expected to take PSY 364, Social Psychology, and SO 250, Marriage and the Family, as social science electives for the general studies core requirements. The student is expected to take PSY 267, Behavioral Statistics, in place of MA 205, Statistical Methods.
