Objectives: Sociology
- Students will understand the patterns and dimensions of social inequality
and empowerment.
- Students will master key sociological concepts such as race, class, and
gender.
- Students will demonstrate the use of empirical research skills that inform
our understanding of the social world.
- Students will acquire practical knowledge of Sociology and social movements,
which will allow them to find innovative ways to work and advocate.
- Students will be able to demonstrate the use of critical thinking skills
in their analysis of sociological issues.
Objectives: History
- History is like a clock that records everything, and everything repeats
continuously with changes only in the names of people and events. By studying
the past, students should be able to analyze and synthesize events so that
they understand the impact of these on present and future events.
- Students who take the required History courses or electives in Liberal
Arts will be able to develop an appreciation of the past that will be used
as stepping stones to the present and the future.
