The Fine Arts and Foreign Language Department is comprised of two main

Objectives: Foreign Language

being communicated to them by foreign language speakers.
- Students will communicate with others with confidence in their responses.
- Students will begin to read in the foreign language specified so that
they may be able to read a newspaper or magazine.
- Students will write in the foreign language specified so that they can
write on a particular subject.
- Students will explore the culture of the country of the foreign language
specified in order to be able to compare and contrast cultural mores between
the cultures of the United Sates and other countries that speak that particular
foreign language.
Objectives: Fine Arts
- Students who enroll in Fine Arts classes as liberal arts electives will
be taught to develop an appreciation of the role of fine arts in a diverse
culture.
- Students who choose to pursue a minor in Fine Arts will develop the objectives
for their minor in consultation with their mentor and faculty members in
the Fine Arts and Foreign Language Department. These objectives must be
individualized because the minor may be a concentration or diversification
in music, theater, or visual art.
