How Cost is Determined

Cost of Attendance (COA) is determined by the University using rules established by the federal government. These may include:

  • Your actual tuition and fees
  • Allowance for housing (excluding students living with parents)
  • Allowance for estimated transportation
  • Allowance for estimated transportation
  • Allowance for estimated miscellaneous expenses (such as personal expense)

Note a limited allowance is estimated for housing, transportation, and miscellaneous expenses. Keep in mind that some of this allowance does not represent new or out-of-pocket expenditure for you. Your actual expenditure may vary considerably from the estimate, depending on your personal circumstances and life style.

Students receiving any federal and/or state funds cannot receive financial aid greater than their COA less Expected Family Contribution (EFC), less other aid you’re expected to receive.

Note: You are considered a full-time student if you register for 12 credit hours or more each semester. Three-Quarter time enrollment is 9-11 credit hours and half-time enrollment is 6-8 credit hours.
